Bee Stings and Bites
Our four legged friends just love to chase bees and snap at them; so on the occasion the bee wins, what signs should you look for?
·
Sudden dramatic reaction·
Constant pawing at the sting site·
Within 10-30 minutes swelling around the site·
Head becomes “puffy”·
Swollen lips and eyes·
Swelling should subside after a few hoursNote:
A Vet check to ensure your pet’s airway is not compromised and to remove any stingers should be sought.Treatment can be given by one of our Vets to reduce swelling quickly, preventing further distress.
Dog’s that are allergic to bees become very depressed and uncomfortable.
