BITES and BUMPS

 

Spiders, bull ants and generally lots of “crawlies” seem to every where at the moment, perhaps due to the continuing dry spell and heat?..and with them come their bites.

We are treating more and more swellings, rashes, lumps and irritations than ever at the moment so here are a few pointers:

Symptoms:

· Localized swelling in one area

· Redness

· Constant scratching / licking at the area

· Lame

· “not themselves” not eating,

· Depressed

· Salivating excessively, vomiting

If any of these symptoms are persistent, especially salivating and vomiting, have your pet checked immediately, often medication to reduce the inflammation, swelling and “burning sensation” is enough to bring relief to an extremely distressed pet.
