Gastrointestinal disorders are one of the top three reasons your pet may require a visit to the Vet.
Pets of any age may suffer from these disorders; PANCREATITIS in particular should be treated immediately:
Symptoms:

Lethargic·
Abdominal pain·
Vomiting / diarrhea / increased stools and flatulence·
Weight loss with NO decrease in food intake (common in cats)Risk factors:

Breed (miniature, schnauzer, miniature poodle, cocker spaniel, Siamese cats)·
More predominant in females·
Age 7 years +·
Obesity·
High fat foods (scraps) and rich foodsTreatment:

Hospitalization·
Nil orally·
Specific low fat diet·
