Whisker-Lickin’ Shrimp Salad
Ingredients:
- 75g pre-cooked shrimp (small prawns)
- ¼ cup freshly cut grass chopped finely(may use cat grass if
available)
- 1/3 cup clam juice
To make:
- No cooking required
- Break shrimp into small pieces
- Mix all ingredients together
- Makes one serving
Cat’s Meow Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 cans sardines (drained and mashed)
- ¼ cup dry non-fat milk
- ½ cup wheat germ
To make:
- Mix all ingredients together well
- Roll into 30 marble size balls
- Place on greased(non-fat) cooking tray
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, until brown
- Allow to cool before removing
- Store soft cookies in an air tight container in the fridge
Banana Carob Dog Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups ripe bananas, mashed
- ¼ cup of apple sauce
- 3 cups uncooked oatmeal
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ cup carob chips
To make:
- Stir together all ingredients until mixed
- Roll into balls the size of walnuts
- Drop by teaspoon onto a un-greased baking tray
- Press flat with a fork
- Pre-heat oven, bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes
- Cool before serving
- Store in fridge – makes approximately 30 cookies
Lip Smackin’ Dog Brownies
Ingredients:
- 500g beef liver
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 2 large garlic cloves, minced
To make:
- Cut liver into small pieces
- Mix liver with eggs, cornmeal and garlic in a blender until smooth
- Pour into 8” baking tray that has been greased with fat-free non-
stick cooking spray
- Pre-heat oven and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees
- Allow to cool and cut into bite size squares
- Store in air tight container in the fridge
Chilly Pooch Pops
Ingredients:
- 1.2 liters fruit juice (apple, lemonade)
- 1 ripe banana mashed
- ½ cup plain yoghurt
To make:
- Blend all ingredients in a blender
- Pour mixture into ice cube trays and freeze
- Serve on hot days as a treat
- Makes approximately 48 ice cubes
Home Made Dog Biscuits
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup meat dripping or beef broth
- 1/3 cup marge
- ½ cup powdered milk
- 1 egg
- 3 cups of whole wheat flour
To make:
- In a large bowl pour heated meat dripping or beef broth over margarine
to melt
- Add powdered milk, beaten egg and pinch of salt
- Slowly add flour ½ cup at a time, mixing well
- The dough should be stiff
- Roll dough to ½ inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters into
favorite shapes
- Grease tray with fat free non-stick cooking spray, place biscuits
on
- Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes
- Let cool and store in air tight container
- Makes approximately 24 cookies (dependant on size)
Barkin’ Birthday Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups wheat germ
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup cornmeal
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
To make:
- Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl
- Add eggs, oil, broth and minced garlic
- Stir until well blended
- Spray x2 8” cake pans with fat free non-stick cooking spray and
sprinkle lightly with flour
- Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees and bake for 45 minutes
- Let cool before removing from pans
- Before serving drizzle with a small amount of chicken gravy
