WARNING!
SNAKES
THIS YEAR WE ARE SEEING MORE ANIMALS BITTEN BY SNAKES IN THEIR
SUBURBAN BACK YARDS.
Warmer weather increases the activity of snakes and together with the long dry
spell we are experiencing, they are coming a lot closer into our back yards.
We all need to increase our awareness and keep up with the outside house keeping! Some tips:
Keep grass short, remove piles of rubbish and wood from the yard (reduce their hiding spots).
Symptoms of a snake bite: dilated pupils, trembling, unsteady walk, drooling, vomiting, defecation, heavy breathing and collapse.
If you think your pet may have been bitten by a snake seek
veterinary advice immediately as time is of the essence. (unfortunately for many
this year, it is too late)
