VACCINATING YOUR DOG – When should you?
To protect puppies from the serious viral diseases discussed in last week’s
issue, they require a course of vaccinations.
The first vaccination in the course is given at 6 – 8 weeks of age, this vaccination protects your puppy against Parvovirus, Distemper and Hepatitis
The second component of the vaccination must be given at 12 weeks of age, to ensure full immunity against Parvovirus, Distemper and Hepatitis.
Once the initial course is given, a yearly booster is required to keep up your dog’s immunity.
Kennel Cough Vaccinations are also recommended and a
pre-requisite to any dog staying in kennels.
