VACCINATING YOUR DOG – WHY?
Puppies need to have a course of vaccinations to protect them against the
SERIOUS VIRAL DISEASES OF DOGS including:
Parvovirus – affects all ages, in young puppies death may occur without warning as the virus attacks the heart muscle. Some obvious signs are severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain. Parvovirus can live in the environment for very long periods and is resistant to many household disinfectants.
Distemper – serious contagious viral disease, symptoms include: fever, coughing, nasal discharge, vomiting, diarrhea and depression. Surviving dogs may be left with ongoing central nervous system problems.
Hepatitis – very contagious, symptoms include: fever, abdominal pain and ongoing liver and kidney problems if dog survives.
