Veterinary Practice Manager (Senior Surgical Nurse)

Nikki has worked in the industry for many years and is the mother of four children and many four legged "kids"! She studied at Box Hill and worked around Melbourne, Daylesford and now Eastwood Vets since 2007. Nikki has furthered her education in Emergency/Critical Care, Radiology and Advanced Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and has recently become the Practice Manager of Eastwood Vets as well as her role of Senior Head Surgical nurse. Her interests are wildlife rehabilitation, riding her horse 'Mako' as a proud member of the Creswick Light Horse Troop, eating fresh produce out of her garden and good wine!

Veterinary Nurse (Senior Surgical Nurse, Cat Advocate)

Bronwyn joined our team in late 2011 as a senior veterinary nurse, after a 15 year break to be a stay at home mum to her three boys. In her ‘pre-children’ life, she was Head Nurse at a mixed animal practice which she cared for and treated a range of animals, great and small, from guinea pigs to even the odd alpaca. She regularly undertook further training and attended several seminars and conferences for professional development.

Bron works in the surgical and medical areas of our clinic and is also on call most weekends to support the vets with emergencies. She is the "Cat Advocate" for the Clinic as part of the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic program

Some career highlights were:

  • Graduation as a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse in 1991
  • State Representative for the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia, where she was involved in the coordinating of the first Veterinary Nurse Conference in Australia.
  • In 1993 she was awarded the National Small Animal veterinary Nurse award which included the prize of a return ticket to attend the International veterinary Nurse Conference in England.

In her younger days she was a passionate horse rider and dressage competitor, though she now keeps both feet firmly on the ground preferring to spend her spare time in the garden surrounded by her boys, chickens and whippet x cavalier puppy ‘Luna(tic)”!
