Dr Ruth

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc (hons), MVS, MANZCVS (Feline Medicine), ISFM AdvCertFB)

Graduating from The University of Queensland in 1992 with first class honours, Dr Ruth worked in small animal practice in South East Queensland until moving to Ballarat in 1998. She joined the Eastwood Vet Clinic team shortly after and took over ownership of the practice in 2002.

Dr Ruth completed her Masters in Veterinary Studies in 2001 and was admitted via examinations as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Feline Medicine in July 2013. More recently she has completed the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour for Veterinary Professionals in April 2020.

Dr Megan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Megan joined our team at Eastwood in 2011 after spending 11 years working in mixed practice in the west of Ireland. She has a special interest in surgery, and orthopaedics in particular.

Dr Cath

Veterinarian (BSc (Hons) BVSc(Hons) MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine))

Originally from Ballarat, Dr Cath graduated from Sydney University in 2004, and then headed straight to the UK. She worked in mixed and small animal practice for 7 years, then moved back to Melbourne to work in emergency practice, and have a couple of kids with vet husband Tom. She moved back to Ballarat in 2017. When not at work, she is busy wrangling small children and a lovable black labrador. Dr Cath was admitted via examinations as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in July 2022.

Dr Isabella

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Isabella graduated in 2001 from the University of Veterinary Science in Vienna, Austria.  She then completed the Australian Vet Board Exam in 2003 and worked in rural mixed practice until joining the team at Eastwood Vets in 2011.

Dr Isabella has a special interest in small animal medicine, emergency and critical care.

She spends her free time with her ‘furkids’ – two cross breed rescue dogs.

Dr Sam

Veterinarian (DVM)

Dr Sam completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at University of Melbourne in 2020 and has a special interest in small animal medicine and preventative health.

Dr Adrienne

Veterinarian (BVetBiol BVSc MVS)

Dr Adrienne graduated from Charles Sturt University with a degree in veterinary science and veterinary biology following an interesting career as a film director and equine coach. More recently she has graduated from Murdoch University with a Masters in Veterinary Studies (conservation medicine).

She has a special interest in Australian native animals, exotics and geriatric medicine.


Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager (Senior Surgical Nurse)

Nikki has worked in the industry for many years and is the mother of four children and many four legged "kids"! She studied at Box Hill and worked around Melbourne, Daylesford and now Eastwood Vets since 2007. Nikki has furthered her education in Emergency/Critical Care, Radiology and Advanced Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and has recently become the Practice Manager of Eastwood Vets as well as her role of Senior Head Surgical nurse. Her interests are wildlife rehabilitation, riding her horse 'Mako' as a proud member of the Creswick Light Horse Troop, eating fresh produce out of her garden and good wine!


Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Paige stared working as a nurse in 2019 while studying her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Gordon TAFE

Paige graduated in 2020 and joined the Eastwood team in early 2022. She has experience in both small animals and farm animals nursing and has a special interest in Emergency Care/critical care and anaesthesia.

Away from the clinic you will find Paige spending her free time with partner Ryan and their 5 dogs and she enjoys riding and competing on her horse Scout.


Veterinary Nurse

Sam joined the team in 2013 and during this time she has worked many roles at the clinic. For the past 6 years Sam has been working as a vet nurse and has a special interest in reproductive emergency care.

She comes with many years experience in the showing and breeding of dogs, with a particular fondness for the giant breeds. Her chickens, goats and three dogs keep her busy in her spare time.


Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)

Mandy joined the team at Eastwood Vets in 2020 after completing her certificate IV in Vet Nursing. She has extensive experience in horse racing which was her full time career until she decided to follow her childhood dream to become a vet nurse. Mandy is keen to further her studies in orthopaedics, physio and rehabilitation.

Mandy has two teenage boys and the whole family enjoys the outdoors with their horses, chickens, dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rainbow lorikeet.


Animal Care Taker


Reception Manager

Lisa has worked in reception and administration for over 25 years and has been part of the Eastwood team since 2010. She has a Border Collie called ‘Jess’, a mini-dachshund called "Ollie" and a Sun Conure bird called ‘Sunny’.



Steph has been part of the Eastwood Vets reception team since 2017 and is one of the friendly faces that greet you at reception.

Her house is quite the menagerie and has many occupants ranging from children, grandchildren, horses, cats and dogs!

Steph has a soft spot for Saint Bernards and during her spare time when not at the Clinic she runs a Saint Bernard rescue and rehoming organisation.



Katie joined the Eastwood Vets team in 2022 and has over a decade of experience in the veterinary industry. Originally from the UK, Katie moved to Australia for the warmer weather in 2016 and ended up in sunny Ballarat



Sharon started at the Clinic in 2022 and brings with her over 20 years experience in the veterinary industry.

She has 2 horses, 2 cats and 2 dogs and loves all creatures great and small.  She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends or relaxing by the beach or river with a good book.




Rachael started working as a receptionist for Eastwood Vets in May 2021. Rachael is currently completing her Certificate III in Animal Studies at the Gordon in Geelong (2022) and hopes to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing the following year.

When Rachael is not at work or studying you will find her hanging out with her fur babies Finn, Jasper, Sunny and Tilly or away camping and skiing with her family and friends.

Mr Brian Tubbington (AKA Tubby)

Clinic Cat

Mr Tubbington started at Eastwood Vets as a work experience volunteer during Christmas of 2019. His charm and charisma saw that he was quickly promoted to Clinic Counsellor then onto the top position of Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing as well as Chief Mischief-Maker. He enjoys interacting with all 4 or 2 legged clients and staff.
